Introduction to Travel Vaccines & Why They Matter
International travel exposes you to unfamiliar bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause serious illnesses. Vaccines reduce the risk of:
- Life-threatening infections like yellow fever or Japanese encephalitis
- Highly contagious diseases like measles, typhoid, and hepatitis A
Outbreak-related risks, especially in developing regions or during Hajj, Umrah, or rainy seasons
Staying vaccinated also protects the people around you—especially children, the elderly, and immunocompromised family members.
📌 Cases of typhoid and measles are on the rise in UK return travellers—make sure you’re protected.
What Are Vaccines, and Are They Safe?
Vaccines safely expose your body to a harmless version of a disease—like a weakened virus, inactivated bacteria, or genetic code. This “teaches” your immune system to recognise and fight the real disease if it ever appears.
Are Travel Vaccines Safe?
Yes. All vaccines we administer are MHRA-approved, evidence-based, and rigorously tested. Common side effects may include mild fever or tenderness at the injection site—serious adverse reactions are extremely rare.
We also screen for:
- Allergies
- Medication interactions
- Pregnancy or immune conditions
…before administering any jab.

Travel Vaccine FAQs
Do I need vaccines for Europe?
You might, depending on outbreaks and your vaccination history (e.g., MMR boosters or tick-borne encephalitis for rural Eastern Europe).
Can I get a yellow fever certificate?
Yes—we are a registered Yellow Fever Centre and issue official certificates valid for life.
Do I need malaria tablets?
Yes, for high-risk areas like sub-Saharan Africa, parts of Asia, and South America. We’ll recommend the right one for your destination.
Is it too late to get vaccinated if I’m leaving next week?
Not necessarily. Some vaccines offer protection within 7–10 days. Book ASAP—we’ll do our best to help.
Can I get all vaccines in one visit?
Yes, if clinically safe. We’ll check your history and administer multiple vaccines if needed.
